Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Soilse. They govern your use of the Soilse mobile app and the soilse.com website (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are & acceptance
The Service is operated by [OPERATOR NAME], [ADDRESS], Hungary ("Soilse", "we", "us"). These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
2. Eligibility & your account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter a binding contract.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone or use another person's details without permission.
- Tell us promptly at hello@soilse.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
3. What Soilse is (and isn't)
Soilse is a personal-finance organisation and education app. Its features include:
- Money Score — a 0–100 indicator our software calculates from the figures you enter, to help you gauge your financial health. It is an estimate for guidance, not a credit score or a statement of fact.
- AI coach — an AI assistant that answers money questions, can reference figures you choose to share, and — at your request — can carry out actions in the app for you, such as creating a savings goal, recording an income, spending or saving figure, or changing a setting like your currency, language or theme (see section 4).
- Net worth — a place to record accounts, assets and liabilities that you enter manually, and see totals and trends.
- Goals — savings goals and optional deposit plans and reminders.
- Learn — bite-size lessons, quizzes, XP, levels and streaks.
- Family Mode — a shared budget and a friendly leaderboard among people you invite.
- Notifications — in-app and (optional) push notifications.
4. Not financial advice — important
The AI coach, the Money Score, the lessons, and all other content are provided for general information and educational purposes only. They are not, and must not be relied on as, professional financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product.
We are not your financial adviser, broker, or fiduciary, and no advisory relationship is created by your use of the Service. AI systems can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date and may produce information that looks confident but is wrong ("hallucinations"); web-search results the coach surfaces are third-party content we do not endorse or verify.
Before acting on anything you see in Soilse, do your own research and consult a qualified, licensed professional who knows your circumstances. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions and their outcomes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on the Service.
5. Accuracy of your information
Soilse's outputs are only as good as what you put in. You are responsible for the accuracy of the accounts, balances, goals and other data you enter. Totals, net worth, trends and the Money Score are calculated from your inputs and are estimates for your convenience — they may not reflect your true financial position and should not be treated as authoritative records.
6. Premium, billing & refunds
- Plans. Soilse offers a free Standard plan and a paid Premium plan (currently US$9.99/month, or the equivalent shown at checkout). Features and limits for each plan are described in the app and may change over time.
- Payment. Premium purchased on the website is billed through Stripe; Premium purchased through an app store may be billed by Apple or Google under their terms. By subscribing you authorise the recurring charge.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current paid period. You keep Premium until then.
- Cancelling. Cancel via the app-store subscription settings (app purchases) or via the link in your receipt / by contacting us (web purchases). If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your account reverts to Standard.
- Price changes. We may change prices; we'll give reasonable notice, and changes apply to the next renewal.
- Refunds & EU withdrawal right. If you are an EU/EEA/UK consumer, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services. Because Premium is digital content supplied immediately, by starting to use Premium during that period you request immediate performance and acknowledge you may lose the withdrawal right once the service is fully performed. Except where the law gives you a non-waivable right to a refund, payments are otherwise non-refundable. App-store purchases are subject to the store's refund policy.
- Early access. While Soilse is pre-launch, paid features may not be available; nothing on the waitlist is a charge.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use Soilse for anything fraudulent, harmful, or infringing;
- access, probe, or disrupt the Service, its security, or other users' data; attempt to bypass rate limits, plan limits, or authentication; or reverse-engineer the Service except where the law permits;
- upload malicious code, spam, or content that is unlawful, hateful, or violates others' rights;
- harass, bully, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other users, or send them unwanted, repeated, or sexually explicit messages, through friend chat, family chat, shared goals, or any other feature;
- abuse the AI coach or email features (e.g. to send unsolicited or bulk messages, or to generate unlawful content);
- scrape, resell, or commercially exploit the Service or its content without our written permission; or
- invite people to Family Mode without a lawful basis to use their email.
8. Your content & licence
You keep ownership of the information and content you put into Soilse (your goals, notes, coach messages, display name and avatar, chat messages, shared goals, and family data). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display that content to operate and improve the Service — for example, sending your coach message to our AI provider to generate a reply, and showing the content you choose to share to the friends or family members you share it with. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to provide and share it.
9. Family Mode
If you create or manage a family, you decide who to invite and what roles and shared budget to set. By inviting someone you confirm you have their permission to use their email and to share family information with them, and — where a member is a child — that you provide any parental consent and supervision the law requires. Family members can see the shared budget, the leaderboard, and any messages posted in the family group chat, which is visible to everyone in that family — so don't post anything there you wouldn't want all members to read. The family owner can add or remove members; removing a member, or deleting your account, ends their access to the shared family data. We are not responsible for how family members use information shared within a family.
10. Friends, messages & other users
Soilse lets you connect with other people. You can send a friend request by entering someone's email address and, once they accept, exchange private one-to-one messages and create shared savings goals together. Family Mode (section 9) also includes a group chat visible to everyone in the family.
- What other people can see. Anything you send or share with a friend or family member — your messages, your display name and avatar, and any shared goal (its name, target and amounts) — is visible to those people. Messages and shared content are not private from the people you share them with, and we cannot un-send or retrieve them for you once sent.
- Adding people by email. When you send a friend request or family invite, you confirm you have a lawful basis to use that email address to contact that person, and you agree not to use it to send unwanted or repeated requests.
- Other users' content and conduct. Content and messages created by other users are their responsibility, not ours. We do not control, endorse, or verify what other users say or share, and — to the fullest extent permitted by law — we are not responsible for other users' content or conduct, or for how anyone uses information you choose to share with them.
- Staying in control & reporting abuse. You can end a connection at any time — remove a friend to revoke access to your shared chat and goals, or leave or remove someone from a family. If someone sends you abusive, harassing, or otherwise objectionable content, report it to us at hello@soilse.com; we review reports and may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that breach section 7.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (including Supabase, Anthropic, Brevo, Stripe, Expo, Google, Apple, and Hostinger — see the Privacy Policy). Your use of features powered by them may also be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content.
12. App Store & Apple-specific terms
If you download Soilse from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply to that download and prevail over any conflicting term elsewhere in these Terms. These Terms are between you and Soilse only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Licence scope. The licence we grant you to use the app is a non-transferable licence to use Soilse on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, subject to the App Store Usage Rules.
- Maintenance & support. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app; Apple has no obligation to furnish support services.
- Warranty. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses, or costs attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- Product & IP claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it (including product-liability, regulatory, and consumer-protection claims) and for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights.
- Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as "terrorist-supporting", and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
13. Our intellectual property
The Service — including the Soilse name and logo, the app and website, their design, text, graphics, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as the law allows or we permit in writing.
14. Availability, beta & changes
We work to keep Soilse available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as available" basis and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is under active development; features may be added, changed, or removed, and some features may be offered as beta or "early access" and may be unstable. We may set reasonable technical limits (for example, daily AI-coach message caps or plan limits).
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service, the Money Score, or the AI coach will be accurate, reliable, secure, or meet your needs, or that outputs are suitable for any decision. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including any reliance on the AI coach or the Money Score;
- our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €50.
Some jurisdictions (including for EU consumers) do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
17. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your content, or your invitation of others to Family Mode without a lawful basis. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach or negligence, and does not affect your non-waivable consumer rights.
18. Suspension & termination
You can stop using Soilse and delete your account at any time (Profile → Danger zone). We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, use the Service unlawfully, or to protect the Service or other users — where practical we'll give notice. On termination, your licence to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits, IP, governing law) continue to apply.
19. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and applicable EU law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory protections of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. We'll always try to resolve issues informally first — please contact us. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves or the law changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Soilse after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you don't agree, stop using the Service and you may delete your account.
21. General terms
- Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
- No waiver: if we don't enforce a right, that's not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganisation.
- Force majeure: we're not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us regarding the Service.
- Language: the English version of these Terms prevails if translated.
